Students of the University of Lagos began a second day of protesting over the renaming their institution to Moshood Abiola University by President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday during his nationally televised speech marking his ruling party's Democracy Day.
Early today, students of the university have converged at the school gate to continue a peaceful protest against the move. Some of the students were seen blocking the The Third Mainland bridge early in the morning. The name change of the Institution has attracted widespread condemnation by Nigerians who regarded the move as a distraction by Mr. Jonathan.
