Adieu, Ekwueme Chibuzor Paul!!!

   As it's common knowledge, death is an inevitable end for all mortals. It lies in wait for everyone. Casting no distinction, it strikes both the poor and the rich, the healthy and the sick, men and women, young and old. It strikes at will, and often times, without forewarning.

   Sadness and gloom have beclouded the Ekwuemes of Awhum in Enugu State and the Catholic community of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) when the sudden and unanticipated death of Chibuzor Ekwueme was announced.

   In the Catholic community of FUTO under St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy (STACC), Catholic Bible Society, a group which Ekwueme Chibuzor has once headed appeared the most hit with the news of his demise. A news so sad and heart rending that so many burst into uncontrollable tears, each recounting his personal experience with this amiable young fellow.

   In their individual and disparate recounts, one golden and striking quality was generally ascribed to him; gentility and superfluity of faith. Many he mentored and others always draw some inspiration as well as encouragement from him.

   Ekwueme Chibuzor Paul, a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Federal University of Technology, Owerri(FUTO) was during his life time the President of Catholic Bible Society of Nigeria, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy, FUTO between 2008-2009. On completion of his five-year programme in FUTO, he was deployed to serve his father land in Jigawa State under the National Youth Service Scheme where, barely two months to his passing out, he met his death in an auto crash. He will be reportedly interred today, May 12th, 2012 as his remains will depart Kano for his hometown in Awhum, Enugu State.
