Still On Salami's Matter.

I've always anticipated it to come this way. When the President of the country, Goodluck Jonathan suddenly developed cold feet in ratifying the recommendation of the National Judicial Council to reinstate Justice Ayo Isa Salami, I perceived something fishy. His reluctance in ratifying the recommendation as sharply contrasting to his speedy adoption of the NJC's recommendation way back August when he was suspended is something that smacks of politics wading into the Judiciary.

I wasn't amazed when it went on air today that the suit which sought to restrain the President from acting on the recommendation stirred controversy when the lawyer in whose name the suit was initiated said he knew nothing of the case.

When the case was mentioned, the lawyer, Wilfred Okoli, told the court that he had no knowledge of the suit filed in his name.

"My lord, I am not aware of this suit, my consent was never sought before it was brought before you. I have no knowledge of it, my lord," Okoli said.

Abuja-based lawyer, Amobi Nzelu, had filed the suit on behalf of Okoli, who is a counsel in his chamber.

The case was adjourned on till September 25, wherein Justice Abdul Kafarati asked the duo to put their house in order and to ensure Salami is served before the next adjourned date.

Isn't this same case among others the Presidency via his Attorney General hinged on to decline action on the recommendation based on sub judice? It is no wonder that the entire scenario was a kitchen work aimed at frustrating Salami's reinstatement. Truth's beginning to emerge (that's if further efforts won't be employed to suppress it). My country, which way forward?
